Since practically forever, human beings have wanted to fly. I think representing angels with wings as higher beings testifies to this: because beliefs aside, angels don't need wings to get around.
In 1993, Leslee and I were volunteers at the American Association of Woodturners Symposium at the SUNY campus in Purchase, New York. Our husbands were woodturners and we were woodturning groupies. While our husbands attended demonstrations and helped with the equipment and demonstrations, we were signed up to help with hospitality--making coffee, setting out donuts, that sort of thing. Somehow our skill with 3 gallon coffee urns landed us a cash box and rolls of tickets to be exchanged for meals in the cafeteria by attendees.
